Happy Birthday 5th Joseph

While we were in Omaha celebrating Easter, in the afternoon we celebrated Joseph's 5th birthday.  He is so excited to be turning 5, which means school is around the corner for this little guy.  Joseph is a sweet little boy with a big heart.  He loves basketball and football too.  Hence that is why his birthday cake is decorated with NFL teams.
Gotta have a picture with my Godson.

Easter Fun

On Easter Sunday, Phil's brother and SIL, invited us to come to Omaha for Easter.  After mass, we headed that way.  Raye had her family there too.  After a delicious lunch, there was a little egg hunt for the kids.  It was so fun watching my nephews and niece hunt for their eggs.
Can't believe we are in shorts this Easter!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighbor asked Ruth and Clare to join them at their church's Easter Egg Hunt.  It had been years since we've gone to one so it was pretty darn exciting.  It was a beautiful morning for the hunt.  I can't remember a nicer Easter weekend.

5,000 eggs were scattered in yard
32 eggs were the limit so everyone had a chance to get eggs.

Local Celebrity

Last Friday, meteorologist Jeriann Ritter, from NBC 13 came to my first grade teams' classrooms to share her knowledge about weather.  The classes were pretty excited to have her come and talk about tornadoes.  Kids love to hear about storms.  Jeriann showed the students an actual video on a torndado taken by a storm chaser.

Softball has Begun

Clare is in full swing of softball.  Her rec team(Twins) has started practice, her travel team has started their spring league games(weekends) and tournaments on the weekends will be here soon.  About 3 nights of the week are spent at the fields practicing.  It is a good thing we live less than a mile by the softball fields.

A Trip to Ottumwa

Spring Break seems so long ago, but I was able to sneak away to my home town of Ottumwa with two of my girls.  We haven't been there since Christmas.  While we were home, we had a nice visit with my mom, grandma, went out for lunch, shopped and of course we stopped for ice cream at Graham's.  It is the BEST ice cream place in town.  It totally beats Dairy Queen.
