Anything Goes

This week are Olivia's dance recital practices. The theme is 'Anything Goes'. She is dancing in two routines. Her hip hop routine is to the song "Fire Burning" by Sean Kingston. And for her Tap Funk 2 routine, she is tapping to the song "These Boots are Made for Walking."

Daddy's Home

The best feeling in the world is when you come home and your baby comes walking into your arms.

Hangin' with Cuz

My nephew loves to see RM. She had just woken up from her nap and he sat on the floor to play with her.

Glam Party

O. turned 11 last month, but her party with her friends took place today. Her party was at a local hair beauty school and the stylists fixed their hair and painted their nails.

She just wanted her hair straightened.

See the bump in the back? That's what she wanted.

Our babysitter, Karen, is a one of a kind. She truly cares for our children and we are blessed to have found a wonderful person to care for our kids. Thanks Sara, my sister-in-law, for sharing her with us.
On the kids' birthdays she writes on the front door 'Happy Birthday' using window markers. The kids even help decorate too.

One Today

Nothing like spending your birthday at baseball fields.

"I love the swing."

Turning One

Over the weekend, we celebrated Ruthie's first birthday. Crazy as it seems, another year has flown by for us. Just last year, I was finishing up the school year and May always is busy... baseball, extra dance rehearsals, extra stuff going on at work, Olivia and my nephew's bdays. This year, nothing has slowed us down, and if anything we are more busy in the evenings. I think with the the others being older and more active made Ruth's first year go incredibly fast.

I found Ruthie's bday decorations on-line since I couldn't find what I wanted in the stores here. Usually I have Hy-Vee or Target make my kids' bday cakes but this time I wanted someone to make it with an owl on it to match the theme. Becky at Enchanted Sweets made Ruthie's cakes. I emailed a picture of what I wanted and she created two perfect cakes. When she delivered the cakes, I was surprised to see two boxes. I wasn't expecting the smash cake so it was an extra bonus. I could have chosen a a fancy cake flavor but I went with basic chocolate. However, the chocolate flavor was even better than the store bought chocolate. The cakes were a hit!
