boo, boo. RM fell down outside while walking because she is a little unsteady. The tears didn't last long since Dad was there to quickly pick her up. Unfortunately, this won't be her last scrape.

Family Visitors

Last weekend, Phil's family was in town. It was great seeing them all, as it had been a long time. We had many good laughs and a lot to catch up on.

Happy Mother's Day

Call it crazy, but all of us, Chris's family and my mom headed out to eat for Mother's Day. Chris and I wanted to treat mom and she picked Chili's. I LOVE Chili's and their chips and salsa. They always hit the spot. When we arrived, the estimated wait time was 30 minutes but that ended up only being 5. We'll take 5 minutes since wait time with a baby can be challenging.

Notice, RM wearing shoes in the picture. We are slowly getting her use to wearing them. She fussed just a little when we put them on and managed to keep them on the whole evening.


My mom took this next week off, so she drove up today to spend a few days with us. She has started to plant some flowers around the house and hopes to finish if the weather cooperates.

She's a Walkin'

Each day, R. is taking more and more steps. Today she walked about 5 feet all on her own. Crawling is still her main mode of getting around but she quickly stands to reach about anything.

Some extra time with..

Joseph was must when we girls were in the area. I brought the girls with me as we visited some family and friends. Last week, there was a house full of people at his baptism so there was little holding time. It was just us this time while Phil and Andrew stayed back since Andrew had baseball.

Still loves to sleep.

Soon to Be

I don't think our little C. can be anymore excited to start kindergarten in the fall. I took the afternoon off to take her to meet the 4 kindergarten teachers and some of her soon-to-be classmates. Today was a special day to see the rooms and listen to a story read by a teacher too. While the kids were occupied, the principal gave the parents a quick overview of the kindergarten program and what to expect. As of now, 80 students are registered for kindergarten. C. already calls Timber Ridge 'her school' and asks often when she is starting.

When we were there, C. wanted to know if her siblings were there. She is so proud to be going to the same school as her big brother and sister. Unfortunately, O. was off taking a tour at the middle school. YIKES!!!! Next year, she'll be in middle school. This can't be possible. A. was on his field trip out at a park, where he did a bunch of outdoor education activities.

11 months

Such a BIG girl these days. Here RM is standing w/o holding onto anything. Her balance is improving everyday. Just recently she is taking baby steps too. Drinking from a sippy cup is coming along. At first it was hard to get anything out of it. She would just toss it off her high chair. Now, with time, she has figured out the whole sippy cup thing. Right now, water is the only liquid we put in it. Soon, whole milk will be put in it. Can't wait for the formula days to be over. Already she consumes about 3-4 bottles a day. And one or two of those of bottles is mixed with her cereal.

JC's Baptism

This afternoon we were in Omaha to celebrate JC's baptism. We were all anxious to see him since our last visit in April. He was a pretty fussy most of the day, so Raye held him a lot. We had to share JC with a lot of people but we all had a chance to hold him a few minutes. After a nice lunch, they opened some gifts for JC.

Dan and Raye bought a baptismal gown in Rome when they were there on their honeymoon in 2008. They had it blessed by Pope Benedict. It was absolutely beautiful.


Phil and I were thrilled to pieces when Dan and Raye asked us to be Godparents for little JC.

Vocabulary Parade

In third grade at A.'s school, they held the 3rd annual Vocabulary Parade. This is a project that is completely done at home. A. had to select a word from the curriculum that has been covered this year and create an outfit. The idea comes from the book Miss Alaineus, where 5th grade students host their own vocabulary parade. Anyway, after A. selected his word, then came how we would design a costume representing his 'vocab word'. A good friend of mine has made several freezer paint shirts for her family and I thought this would be a good opportunity to try it ourselves. I found a lightning bolt stencil on line, traced it onto freezer paper, cut it out with an exacto knife, ironed the freezer paper on the t-shirt with the bolt cut out of it, then painted the bolt with white paint. Waited a few hours to dry, and pulled the paper off the shirt. As you can tell, I made three on his shirt.
